Greetings unto the Populace of the Glorious Barony of Septentria, from Baron Sven and Mistress Kersteken,
We are so pleased to be seeking your confidence in our candidacy for the High Seats of Spetentria!
We would like to express our gratitude to Their Majesties Evander and Marioun and Their Excellencies Dafydd and Mahild for finding us acceptable to seek the High Seats.
We write with hope and candor to secure your confidence in us for the forth coming Baronial Selection Procedure in the Great Barony of Septentria. We would be most honoured to be the Baron and Baroness of Septentria, and are very excited for the opportunity to represent the Barony. We seek to represent the people and share our joy in the society with you.
We want to be open with you that we are 6 months shy of the residency requirement. While this has been waived by Their Majesties, we feel it’s important for you to know that we are still getting to know the barony. We have attended many events with in the Barony, and worked to serve where we could over our 18 and 20 year history in the SCA. We hope our years of experience in the SCA will grant us the wisdom and grace required to be a Landed Baron and Baroness.
We look forward to getting to know you and meeting you at the upcoming meet and greets within the Barony. Her Excellency Anneke is working diligently to find dates and times to meet you all!

Sven and Kersteken
Sven gunnolfr Ragnaldson is a 10th century Viking who enjoys rattan combat, being a feast steward and serving where needed. He started in the SCA in 1999 in the Stronghold of Tor Brant. He is a Member of the Order of Thorbjorn’s Hammer and a Member of the Order of the Wain, and was made a Baron of the Court. Sven has served in a variety of officer roles in the Stronghold of Tor Brant. He has also been King and Queen’s champion and served as attendant even when those being served had no idea he was there!
Kersteken Janzdochtere is a 15th century Dutch Merchant’s daughter who prefers wearing the fashions of the 14th century. She started in the SCA in 2001 in the Canton of Skeldergate. She enjoys fencing, sewing, being a feast steward, calligraphy and illumination, research and serving where needed. Kersteken has held a variety of roles on various councils over the years including A&S Minister, Exchequer, Local and Baronial Seneschal and Kingdom Seneschal. Currently, Kersteken is delving into the world of heraldry by being the Caleyground Herald. A Baroness of the Court and Member of the Order of the Pelican, Kersteken has become comfortable being a Voice Herald in Court.
Sven and Kersteken have two sons Aromir (sometimes called Ben) and Arongarr (sometimes called Zak). Aromir’s first event was Pennsic when he was 3 weeks old and Arongarr’s first event was Winter War when he was 5 weeks old. Aromir and Arongarr enjoy fencing, archery and thrown weapons. They have been lucky to have been Count Baldric and Countess Brayla’s Youth Champions and currently serve as King Evander and Queen Marioun’s Thrown Weapons Champions. Both boys are passionate about the SCA and enjoy having fun with their friends.
